Army veteran SOC Alex Knapp speaking with students from St. Isaac Jougues. Knapp was seriously injured by an IED by an explosion while on patrol outside of Baghdad in March 2008. He lost both legs in the explosion. The students have been corresponding with him for almost a year.
Andrew Potter is a freelance photographer in the Detroit area who’s a regular contributor to Ambassador Magazine, C & G Newspapers and Between The Lines. Potter has also had photos published in the Washington Post, Crain's Detroit, Ann Arbor.com, Dagens Industri, Luxe & Class Magazine, Detroiter, and Real Detroit Weekly. He started his career in photography at Eastern Michigan University where he was the Photo Editor of the Eastern Echo. Potter also photographs weddings, events, and portraits. You may have heard him on his past overnight radio show 89.1 Jazz with Andrew Potter on WEMU Public Radio or seen him play guitar at the Detroit International Jazz Festival. Potter lives in Ferndale with his wife, Shanna, and his Rottweiler, Bowie.
